Present Perfect Tense (negative)

To have the negatives for the present perfect tense, simply add negative words such as “not” or “never” after the auxiliary verb. While the negative word should appear after the auxiliary verb, it should be before the past participle.

Here is the rule: SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS + NEGATIVE + PAST PARTICIPLE.

Below are some examples:

  • The company has not decided to move with the motion.
  • I have not chosen the wrong class.
  • Frank hasn’t become close friends with Cindy.
